I have my Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of Colorado – Denver and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #5075). Using compassion and humor, I work to create a trusting relationship, to encourage and guide, and to create a safe space to process. I am strength based, and a solution focused therapist, which means I believe in the good in people, and I like to help people work towards change in their lives. I lean on Cognitive Behavioral techniques, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Narrative Therapy, and Play and Art Therapies.
I'm passionate about people of all ages and walks of life. I believe people are worthy of love and belonging and that they deserve a place to feel safe and free to share, process, and make changes that will improve their relationships and their overall well-being. I’m passionate about the clients I work with, and I feel fortunate to bear witness to their stories as they walk towards health and healing.
I grew up in Southern Minnesota, where the people really are as nice as you’ve heard, and the winters are much colder than you can imagine! The youngest of five, I was raised in a close knit Norwegian/German family, spending most of my time at the local ski hill or on the tennis courts. I moved to Colorado for college, but really, for the mountains! My husband and childhood best friend, Shawn, and I have three kids – Haakon, Greta, and Henrik, who are the loves of our lives. We are doing our best to ‘show up’ each day and love them well, while we know that truly, They are raising Us. We’re blessed to have amazing family and friends to do life with, and love waking up everyday to Colorado and all that it provides!
I’d love to work with you, your child or your family. Please contact me with questions or to schedule an appointment.
